Join the League of Women Voters for our next Lunch with the League presentation featuring Dorota Janik, Executive Director of Reins of Life.
Founded in 1978, Reins of Life is a nonprofit organization that provides equine-assisted therapy for children and adults with disabilities. Today, the organization serves more than 450 individuals each month through two centers, offering programs to residents of 11 counties in Indiana and Michigan.
Janik will discuss the mission of Reins of Life and the transformative impact of equine-assisted services on individuals with physical, cognitive, social, and emotional challenges. Participants will learn how therapeutic riding and other equine-assisted activities help improve confidence, independence, mobility, and quality of life.
A native of Poland, Janik has been involved with Reins of Life since 2007, serving as a volunteer, advocate, Board President, and now Executive Director. She holds a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry, has studied business and accounting at the University of Notre Dame and Indiana University South Bend, and is a graduate of the Northwest Indiana Leadership Training Program.
